InSuFa was set up by the Church Development Service (EED) in 2003 as a support office for the approx. 30 Indonesian partners to help intensify and improve cooperation between partners and EED, between partners and consultants, and also between Indonesian partners.
InSuFa will help to intensify and improve the cooperation through two main tasks:
1. Support to partner-organisations and programs based on the capacity needs of the partners regarding Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation (PME) and financial management:
* Facilitating planning and implementation of appropriate activities of capacity building relating to Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and related follow-up steps (action plans, mentoring processes, Strategic Planning, etc.) and internal capacity assessment and monitoring tools like TANGO (Transparency and Accountability of NGO);
* Identifying and contacting consultants and training institutions in order to have a better overview of consultants and training opportunities available in the region. On the basis of feedback and suggestions from partners to develop a qualified list of consultants and training institutions which is made available to partners on a regular basis;
* Giving support to partners in identifying challenges/deficits and potentials as well as competent consultants for special issues; supporting partners in defining terms of reference for specific consultancies and evaluations;
* Information and orientation of partners on EED-procedures and requirements on these matters;
* Providing access to and giving information on trainings and consultancies of Hananta Multi Consulting (HMC), a local consultancy firm, in the areas of Financial Management, EED-Requirements, Micro Credits and other financial and tax related aspects including pre-checking of Requests for Transfer of Funds.
2. Enhancement of developmental dialogue among partners and between partners and EED:
* Facilitating the exchange between partners and EED and among partners on selected key-issues and challenges the partners in Indonesia are facing through various activities (e.g. exchange and exposure visits, internships, workshops, trainings, networking meetings, studies etc.);
* Supporting and facilitating the dialogue and advocacy work between EED and her partners regarding issues challenging partners in Indonesia and contributing to the development of an EED future country policy in Indonesia. Related to this process InSuFa is working together with representative partners called Board of Coordinators (BoC) who coordinates 4 sectoral groups on the topics of Rural Development, Community based Health/HIV/AIDS, Democratization/Human Rights/Conflict Transformation and Gender Justice;
* Developing an inventory of partners’ specific strengths which they are ready to share with other partners, as well as of their capacity building needs which they would like to get addressed.
InSuFa is designed as an offer. The partners may feel free to contact the Support Facility.
InSuFa will interfere neither in the project assessment nor in the dialogue between EED and her partners on proposals. InSuFa also will not pre-check documents that present and potential partners intend to send to EED such as requests for funds, narrative and financial reports etc.
